Energy Saving Tip for Wednesday
Eliminating air leaks in your home can save you up to 10% in energy spending! Caulk, seal and weather strip all openings from your home to the outside. Check weather stripping on doors to see if it needs to be replaced.
When we install ABC Seamless siding, we seal all openings on the exterior and install foam insulation under the siding to stop air leaks through your walls and save you money on your heating and cooling costs. If siding replacement isn’t a project you plan to do, you can still make an impact on your energy spending by sealing up any holes where pipes or wires penetrate your walls. Use a good quality caulk. From the crawlspace under your home, you can also insulate or caulk around any pipes or wires that go through your floor. Be careful to follow all safety instructions on the caulk you use– many of them require good ventilation while applying them for safety from the chemical fumes.
